Elbereth Finnish Lapphunds & Border Collies: Visitor from Down Under

What a lovely weekend shared with a new friend from Australia, Jaime Jackson. One of the amazing things about the lapphund community is how the majority of owners around the world are such friendly people, and how great friendships are forged through the shared love of the breed. I must say when I let a puppy go to its new home I do warn the new owners they are not just getting a lapphund puppy but are joining the great big lapphund family. Jaime is on one of those exciting trips from Australia, seeing as much as Europe (or its lapphunds) as possible, so when we knew she was heading this way - we suggested that she join the mad crowd at Richmond Championship show and check out the UK dogs.

Although it is a Championship show, there is only one CC on offer for the BOB. Mrs V Foss judged the breed and from an entry of 34 dogs making 39 entries, she awarded Best dog and BOB and his 9th CC to Multi Ch Elbereth Matkamies ShCM, and so delighted that Shacal Reilu Peli won reserve best bitch at this level. Matkamies then went onto be short listed in the group under Britt-Marie Young (Farouche).

As is now a bit of a tradition, the Elbereth & Bridus teams had a little party ringside, bottles of bubbly and plenty of nibbles, how to have a show with plenty of fun with friends, some even came to catch up with friends even though they had not entered!!. Jaime took loads of photos and she just needs to wait till she is settled in her next country (Sweden) to have time to upload.

Then to finish off the weekend, we took a quick trip to see the puppies who are now 5 weeks old and such adorable bundles of fluff.
