Next exciting news – in December Multi Ch Lumiturpa Otso qualified for Crufts by being the Finnish BOB Winner at the big finnish National show, so Taina decide to bring him to Crufts, I and Nina told her all the dos and donts for travelling to Uk etc and it was all planned, I had bright idea why not collect and freeze some of his semen whilst he was here – a good idea but Taina said Otso was not too keen on that idea she had tried before to send semen abroad, so a plan that would not work. Then I had a silly idea – what if Taru came in season just after Apina (she normally does) if she did then she could be mated by Otso if the timing worked out by some miracle. So Steve & Shelley and I discussed idea, and said if Taru was helpful and came in season to right time frame we would give it a ago (it was such long shot)! GUESS WHAT, she was a star, started her season just when we asked and was mated last night by the handsome Otso. I was running about house like excited kid (thanks go to Steve for driving Taru up to rendezvous with Taina and Otso).
Now we just wait and hope – Otso is Onneli’s half brother so I was extra keen to keep some more of that line in Uk given that Onneli only had one pup and Otso is a stunner and lovely natured boy.
